It could be an area thing, but in our area there have to be three complaints made to social services before they will consider taking them out of the home. Now, that doesn’t mean an obviously hurt child or something like that. BUT when it comes to cases like your brothers they would have to have repeat calls about that. I think in your case it’s a misuses of powers, the wrong person is probably pissed off and wants to make your lives miserable.

I think I’m going to read that book though. It’s just been my general experience that a person who truly messed up will do what they need to do to get their kids back and learn the lesson that needed to be learned. All the others, if given the right amount of rope, will do nothing. I’ve never actually seen an unjustifiable case, thankfully!
